Hi kids,
Tink here. Someone told me that some of you are wanting to fly like Peter Pan and me. I don't blame you. Flying around is great fun. Actually, I don't know any other way to travel!
First, you've got to know that it's easy for me to fly for a couple of reasons. The main one is that I'm a fairy and I have wings, so flying is my natural way of getting around. But for big kids like you, who don't have wings, flying is a lot trickier. You need a good sprinkling of fairy dust before you can lift off . . . which means you have to believe in fairies and then be lucky enough to meet one. When you do meet a fairy, be sure to ask for a sprinkling of fairy dust! And remember to say "please."
But just because you can't fly doesn't mean you can do a lot of things that I do. I bet you're really good at hiding, like when you're playing hide 'n' seek. I always win at hide 'n' seek because I can hide almost anywhere, especially when Captain Hook or his pirate crew is looking for me!
So you see it's really a good thing to be small. We're fast, we have good hiding places, and even though our bodies are small we still have big hearts. We have lots and lots of room for taking in love and giving out love.
Sometimes I get teased about being so little, but I don't care. I know that good things really do come in small packages.

I Lost My Shadow!
Do you like to play with your shadow? I do. When he comes out to play on sunny days we really have fun together. Sometimes he's so big that he looks like a giant. I can't jump over him at all. Sometimes he's so small and squooshy-looking that he looks like a fat frog!
My shadow is very clever and follows me everywhere. But then he gets tricky sometimes and he's in front of me instead of behind me. Even though I'm stepping on him, he never says ouch!
Now I think I've lost my shadow! What am I going to do? It's nighty-night time for the Lost Boys and Wendy is reading them a story. I usually like to listen when she reads to them, but I was having such fun with my shadow today that I wanted to play with him some more. Why can't I find him anywhere?
I looked under my bed, and under my pillow, and under my covers, but I guess he wasn't sleepy. I looked in the closet and in my toy chest, but he just doesn't want to play any more today. Do you think I lost him? Will he come play with me again tomorrow?
Oh, wait a minute . . . Wendy just came over and lit a candle, and guess what happened? My shadow showed up and I was so happy to see him! Wendy says that if you want to find your shadow at night, you can too! All you need is a flashlight.
